Prairie Schooler Exchange

What a great mail day! I was so very excited to see a box from Paula C. at my door! Paula is my exchange partner for the Prairie Schooler Fans Scissor FOB exchange. This is my first exchange with this group, but it is not my first exchange with Paula C. We were partners in the Fair & Square Exchange so I knew that this would be an extra special FOB. Paula's work is truly amazing and this tiny treasure is no exception! She tells me that this is her very first attempt at making a Biscornu ~ I find this very hard to believe! I have wanted to try this technique but it scares me. People tell me it is not difficult, even Paula said it was easier than expected, but I have yet to overcome my fear. Well, at least I now have one...my VERY first and I am so happy!

From: Paula C

In addition Paula sent some wonderful extras: A fabric fat quarter, beautiful scissors, a jar of crushed walnut shells (useful in some of the Blackbird designs), and some Gourmet Huckleberry Creme Coffee (can't wait to try this).

A huge thank you Paula for making this such a wonderful exchange! I am going to treasure this Biscornu FOB! I hope that you find time to get a Blog up and running so that you can share your beautiful work with so many others.

Paula's exchange was mailed out today so I can not share pictures just yet...I will once I know that she has received it.

Yikes, it is almost 4am ~ I guess it is time to go to bed! Probably had WAY to much coffee today...I just can't help it, really.

Until next time...

Seasonal Exchange

I just love the Seasonal Exchange, it allows you to stitch for the same person four times during the year; Fall, Summer, Winter, and Spring. I have had the good fortune of receiving amazing exchanges from Julianne. I just opened this "Wonderful Winter Exchange...."

  • Seasonal Exchange ~ Winter
  • From: Julianne

What a great box for storing my small stitching project! Julianne's stitching is absolutely flawless and her finishing is beautiful. She also included a magazine, recipe booklet, beautifully scented soap, a cute little Santa kit, some variegated floss and an organizer that is just perfect for my many small leaflets. Many thanks Julianne for this wonderful exchange, you always seem to stitch the perfect gift!

Leena has received the Winter Exchange that I stitched for her so I am free to share pictures of that. I used a Prairie Schooler design and finished it off into a stitcher's caddy, take a look...

It is hard to believe that there is only one exchange left (Spring). I am so happy that Becky will be running this exchange again. Thanks Becky for all you do to make your exchange groups so fun and very successful. :)

I have just returned from Vermont and do hope to stay home long enough to complete the college quilt top that I am making for my son. I need to get this done so that I can drop it off to be quilted~ I will snap a few pictures of the top and post them soon.

Until next time...

Here is a small coin purse that I stitched for a very good friend of mine. I absolutely love this Thistle Threads pattern, and will almost certainly be stitching it again.

When you open it up there is this little saying:

I have another Thistle Threads design that I have had on my "to do" list for quite some time. Here is a picture of it; I saw it stitched up and loved it...

If you are interested in a nice freebie, called Mother Is Love, you can download it from her site. The design is pictured below~It would be a great Mother's Day gift.

I had a wonderful time during my visit to Houston, TX. It was great spending a month in the warmer climate, but now that I am home I am behind on just about everything! ~ I will post about the trip another time.

Well, I hit the road again tomorrow, this time to Vermont for at least a week~

Until next time...

Exchanges Received and Sent

I have returned from my one month visit to Houston, Texas and am busy playing "catch up" ~ I want to share some exchange pictures...

First I received a wonderful Fair and Square Exchange from Neila. She sent me a beautifully stitched "Spring" design, a wonderful half yard cut of fabric that compliments the design perfectly, Carrie's Creation hand dyed floss and some delicious chocolates. A huge thank you Neila for stitching me such a gorgeous block and for the wonderful extras that you included.

Like me, Neila is a coffee lover so I decided to stitch her this LHN design:
