We're Off To See The Framer...

With these two beauties...

Design: The Wizard of Oz

How cute are these characters?

Dorothy ~ Toto

Scarecrow ~ Tin Man

Cowardly Lion

A huge thank you to Jenn who is so sweet about sending me links to things that she knows will interest me.  Within minutes of receiving her email I purchased the pattern.  I was glad that I could purchase it as a PDF, it allowed me to start stitching that same day.  I made two changes, I stitched Dorothy’s ruby red slippers using Kreinik Metallic rather than the suggested DMC and I gave her eyes/mouth.

Here is another design that I could not pass on...

Designer: Silver Creek Samplers

Why? Because it makes me smile. It makes me think of my DSs. As a self professed Helicopter Mom, I very much believe hope that they both feel this way. :D

My DSs will be here over Memorial Day weekend. With any luck this will be back from the framer, hanging on the wall to honor their ever-loving Precious Mother!!!

Maybe I should hang it next to this one...

Designer: Lizzie Kate
Design: 100 Years

I love this:

"One hundred years from now it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much I had in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like, but the world may be a better place because I was important in the life of a child"

Maybe this should be the Helicopter Mom's Motto!

Here is a close up of the frame...

I spent Mother's Day weekend in NYC with my DH, DS, and his GF. I was able to see my DS newest apartment, enjoy the gorgeous weather, dine at some excellent restaurants, and viewed the new World Trade Center, which reached it’s designed height of 1,776 feet on May 10th making it the tallest building in America.

Following our Mother's Day brunch my DS and GF guided me to a shop of interest...

The colors alone would brighten your day. Absolutely gorgeous selection of yarns.

That's about all for today ~ thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Three great designs, Marie and love the colours of the yarn - so vibrant. Great to see that tower going up so tall and proud.

I love the Wizard of Oz, and bought this as soon as I saw it, too!! I can't wait to start it!

I'm working on designing my own Wizard of Oz pattern right now!

That Wizard of Oz is really a nice finish. I may just have to stitch that one to coordinate with my Midsummer Nights Primitive Wizard of Oz alphabet!

Love your finish -- so cute! I absolutely love the other two pieces too! Love the saying on the Lizzie Kate one. I went to Purl Soho once too! Isn't it a great store?! I hope you enjoy your Memorial Day weekend with your DS's.

Yay! The finishes are absolutely beautiful!! Love the changes, especially the red metallic for the shoes. I bet it's stunning in person. (And I so love that lion)

I've heard about that store - looks lovely! I just saw a blog article about a trim shop in San Francisco that carries every kind of ribbon and trim that you could ever possibly want. Of course, I emailed my crafty friend in SF immediately and told him to put it on the list for our next visit, but I am sure he's going to check it out on his own very soon.
