How beautiful a day can be when friendship touches it. 

I have been hibernating inside to avoid the frigid temperatures so I have not been to the post office in days. When I finally retrieved my mail I was surprised to see a package from my dear friend, Vonna.  I was even more surprised when I opened it and found these beautiful gifts tucked inside...

I am wondering which of my neighbors heard my loud gasp when I unwrapped this gorgeous treasure...

Yes, dear sweet Vonna gifted me with one of her truly stunning pocket watch necklaces.  She recently posted about this pocketwatch finish on her blog. Not only was I impressed with her beautiful stitching and finishing, I am impressed with her creative mind.  I would looked at that pocket watch in the store and see a pocket watch but Vonna looks and sees the perfect finishing for a gorgeous cross stitch necklace...I want her creative vision!

My birthday surprise also included a wonderful project bag constructed with some "Party Girl" fabric, too cute!  The large fabric bag is perfect for my Prairie Schooler ABC project and it looks so much nicer than the zip lock bag I currently use.  As if that was not enough she sent me a perfectly sized, hinged lid, Vera Bradley bag that can be used to store my needlework accessories.  Vonna sent these beautiful new scissors that are now safely tucked inside...

What a truly generous, thoughtful birthday surprise from one of the nicest people I know.  I am deeply touched and truly blessed to be considered her friend.  

Those that know Vonna would certainly agree that there are no words to adequately express what a kindhearted, selfless, caring person she is. 

Thank you again my dear friend for your wonderful birthday surprise filled with beautiful treasures. Most importantly, thank you for the precious gift of your friendship and for always being there.
