We spent a day skiing at Copper Mountain. I was hoping for a glorious spring skiing day but realized this would not be the case when we exited the hotel to a temperature of 2 degrees ~ Brrr!
Arriving at the mountain, bundled up and anxious to hit the slopes…
Having only skied in the Northeast, I had never experienced the high elevation effects on the body. I didn't know why I was feeling slightly nauseous and a bit light headed but suspected it was due to the fact that I had not eaten. When we stopped for a break to get something to eat in the lodge, DS1 informed me that I was experiencing mild elevation sickness and suggested I drink plenty of water (something I never do). The elevation in the Colorado vs Vermont is much higher.

Another highlight of our Easter trip was the unexpected, and very generous, treat from DS1 and DIL: Brunch at Elways in downtown Denver.
We enjoyed an
Extensive selection of delicious food
Impressive and irresistible desserts
And a fun group of 5 of the best people we know
THANK YOU again, G/M!
In a few weeks I will be attending the Celebration of Needlework show in Nashua, NH., where I will participate in Barbara Jackson's Sunday Best Stitching Basket class. In the class with me will be my friends, Carol S. and Margaret C. I look forward to spending time with these wonderful ladies!
Thanks for Stopping by…

These little Easter gifts are so sweet. I love the eggs that Elise Tortonesi has designed but haven't stitched any so far. And the little bunny by La Comtesse is so lovely.
It must have been great to spend Easter in Denver and the Rocky Mountains, my favorite place in your country. And together with the family it's even better.
Gorgeous ornaments - I love the purple hades in the first one. Looks like you had a great time!
What great Easter gifts.
The skiing looks fun, but way too cold!
Thanks for sharing the pics.
Have fun at Celebration!

Sounds like a fabulous trip to Denver - great to be together as a family. The Easter gifts are so charming and springy! Looking forward to seeing you in New Hampshire!
Your Easter gifts are super!
Marie, you stitched gorgeous Easter gifts, that too in my favourite color.
Looks like you had a good time with family in mile high city.
Your Easter finishes are lovely! It looks like you had a fabulous time in Denver with your family! Enjoy your upcoming trip to Celebrations!
What lovely Easter gifts! Your trip sounds wonderful (though I'd have passed on the frigid skiing); glad you enjoyed it all!
I have had the first egg design in my stash for a while now... It really is beautifully done! Makes me want to pull it out and stitch it! The bunny is adorable! Wow--I did not realize the ski slopes were that high in Denver! I would definitely be affected also... Glad you had a great time! Hugs!
Thank you for taking part in GG this month.
You made two lovely ornies this month and the skiing looks fun.
The desserts look like even more fun!

Beautiful Easter gifts you made, what a nice present to receive.
Your trip looks like lots of fun
How sweet of you to stitch those darling Easter ornaments, Marie! I especially love the purple you used for that first one--very elegnat looking. And what a great trip--always special when the whole family can be together. It happens less and less often for us... I'll take one of each dessert please!!
Enjoy your Celebration of Needlework show. My sister used to live in Nashua--sure wish she still did and I'd have a good excuse to go, too :)
Gorgeous, gorgeous Easter gifts, my dear and it looks like you had so much fun on your family trip. Those times become so special once the children are grown and have flown the nest.
Gorgeous Easter gifts :o)
I love your holiday pics.... it looks like you had so much fun even if you did feel a bit unwell being up in the clouds!!
Those desserts look amazing
Hugs xx
Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with some pics to drive the message home a bit, but instead of that, this is magnificent blog. An excellent read. I’ll definitely be back.
