Hot Off The Press

I just finished this…

Designer: The Little Stitcher
Design: The Lady And The Unicorn (partial)
Fabric: 32ct Mocha HD Linen over 2
Floss: DMC, VMSS, Threadworks

Another butter paddle now hangs on my wall.  I love these little wooden paddles because they are perfect for small finishes.  I decided to paint the paddle black and am pleased with the finished look.

This project took three days to complete, and that includes the finishing.  I spent much of April working on a larger project and wanted to be able to post a finish for the 2016 Smalls SAL. Sunday I pulled everything together and began stitching and was able to complete the finishing on Tuesday.

Here is that larger project that kept me busy this month…

Designer: Birds Of A Feather
Design: Good Things
Fabric: 28ct Lambswool over 2
Floss: Sampler Threads

This is a design from one of my all time favorite designers. I came across the pattern online and immediately purchased it. My Black Horse Inn stitching was put aside so that I could complete this treasure, which I did fairly quickly. The piece is currently being framed.

Tomorrow I must get up early and head Nashua, NH to attend Celebration of Needlework. This year I am only able to attend two days, but am happy that I am able to attend at all!

Thanks for Stopping by…
Until next time…

Marie, your finishes are lovely. I really like your small. Who makes the 32 count mocha HF linen? I am not familiar with what the HF stands for. Thanks! Have a fabulous time at Celebrations!

I'm sure your busy packing for your retreat tomorrow, Marie--have a lovely time!

Your finishes are darling--love the fisherman trying to catch the pretty mermaid and the butter paddle finish looks great, too!

Safe travels!

What great designs and finishing too. I am glad you identified the butter paddle, I was wondering where the holes for the threads were, thinking it was a wooden hornbook!
Love the way the mermaid's hair flows throught the project too.

Oh, I can see why you put your Inn aside in order to stitch this BoaF treasure. Their designs are always a lot of fun to stitch, aren't they? And I love what you were doing with the little crowned lady. Nice stitching and finishing.

2 cute projects Marie! I love the Little Stitcher designs and of course who doesn't love a BOAF especially when you can find an older OOP one. Lucky you attending Celebration of Needlework -I'm envious!

I loved seeing your productivity Marie. I absolutely adore your small finishes with those Tim Holtz pocket watch frames, esp. with those small bits of seed pearls thrown into the frame is too cute! I've made a mental note to myself about it.

Your mentioned liking the Red thread frame I got at Michael that it would look great on your Black Horses Inn and I'd be happy to let you know the frame number. My Michaels keeps a record of all my frames so it would be easy enough to find out the stock number for that style and let you know if you really want it.

It's nice to meet you and thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and leave a that nice comment. Happy Stitching!
