Keeping Busy

Yes, that is what I have been doing...Keeping Busy. I completed a design by one of my favorite designers, Mary Garry and spent today working on the finishing.

Designer: Mary Garry
Design: Milkpaint Sampler
Fabric: 32-ct Country French Latte Linen
Threads: Kreinik Silk
Finish: Needle case

I always manage to mix up my cross stitch tapestry needles, reaching for one and never knowing what size it is, so I pulled out my embroidery machine and embroidered the 3 sizes on the wool felt...that should help.

As I have done in the past, I stitched this needle case up without using a pattern.  Another *figure it out as you go* finish which worked up easily and relatively quickly; I am happy with it.

Look what I pulled out of my huge, ever growing pile of WIPs...

Since I last posted on this WIP I completed the letters "B/C" and started "D"

A
B
C
D

Hopefully I will continue to spend some serious stitching time on this beautiful design.

Edgar let me know that he received the HOE Summer Exchange that I stitched for him.  Here is what I sent:

2013 HOE Summer Exchange
Designer: Prairie Grove Peddler
Stitched for: Edgar M.

Sometimes you just need to *switch it up* and work on a finish that is not an ornament or pinkeep.  This little candle mat is such a great summer design, perfect for this exchange. I liked it so much I started another one for moi!

Why Do I Love Vermont?

Because I can sit in my sewing room, working on my needle case finishing, and look out the window at this gorgeous view....

Heaven and Earth...Only in Vermont!

Don't forget, Wednesday is the last day to sign up for the HOE Friendship Exchange. Details found HERE.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great week!

You make such nice things! Love the needlecase and it will be so (sew) useful, especially with the sizes embroidered. Definitely time to continue with that nice PS design. And the candle mat is a perfect gift.
