Not so nice Renee - the Yorkie breeder

Bundle of cute Yorkie pups!

Can you believe how adorable these Yorkshire Terrier puppies are? I only wish they were all mine! I have been looking to purchase another Yorkie for quite some time and really thought that I had found one a few days ago. The only thing that I did find was an inconsiderate breeder, let’s call her Renee (because that is her name) and let’s say that Renee is from Missouri (because she is) and let’s say that her cell phone number is…okay I won’t go there, but if anyone is interested email me. I will say that she is in the 417 area code. “Not so nice Renee” placed an ad online stating that she would be in the Northeast, with an available puppy, on 12/13. Could I get any luckier, it was 12/13! I called her and she informed me that she had just checked into her hotel, let’s say in Providence, RI (because that is where she was) and YES, the adorable female puppy was available. We made plans to meet the next day at, let say Foxwood Casino in CT. The next morning I received a phone call from “not so nice Renee” letting me know that she had sold the puppy. CAN YOU BELIEVE???? She told me some story about how she had met some people at the airport the previous day who had expressed an interest in the dog, and that they were suppose to call her later. Late that night she received their phone call and she sold them the dog. Oh, she gushed about how terrible she felt but really now, should I believe her? No, she was not honest when she spoke with me at 3pm the day before when she knew of this buyer and failed to tell me. I am certain that she was stringing me along as her “back-up” plan. Had I know about the “potential” buyer I would not have felt nearly as bad. Trust me my entire family was disappointed, I was truly sad. :(

So, my wish for “not so nice Renee from Missouri” this holiday season: that you wake up to a stocking filled with coal - that's what happens when you're not nice!

And my Yorkie search continues….

For some happier news: My son submitted the very last college application today (he had 12), Yippee! My life will return to normal and I can get busy stitching.

Until next time...

Do you really think she was in the NE? Maybe she was not even in your area when you talked to her. I sure would put a black mark by her name where ever I could, so no one sles has to deal with her.

Sorry about the disappointment. It was not meant to be. There is a better Yorkie out there just waiting for you to love.

How soon will son know about which college he is going to?

So sorry that you didn't get the puppy. That is disappointing!

College applications - gosh! I think my mom was much more worried about mine than I was. I knew where I wanted to go, and that I was going there. It was so simple. Ah, to be 17 again and know it all....

Marie, I know you are very disappointed. However, the lady(?) is probably the owner of a puppy mill. I would be very suspicious of purchasing a puppy from anyone from Mo. Ar. and sad to say OK. These states are notorious for puppy mills. Do a Google search for yorkie rescues in your area. They can recommend a reputable breeder. Also, go to Petfinder.com. You can search for yorkies in your area. Good luck in your search.

Sorry it didn't work out and shame on Renee for leading you on and getting your hopes up. She deserves a big lump of coal for being so thoughtless.

Probably better off, actually. Missouri is (sadly) famous for our puppy mills!

Sorry about your disappointment, though... she shouldn't have led you on :(

I hope she gets a lump of coal in her stocking.

Oh, my...but maybe "not so nice Renee" had some "not so nice puppies"...perhaps you can chalk it up to a blessing in disguise, and your little pup is out there somewhere waiting just for you :)

That is simply terrible but I am sure that you will find the perfect puppy soon. Good Luck on your colleges we only filled out three and we just received acceptance for his first choice. Good luck!!

I am so sorry about this. I know that you are completely disappointed. Hope things work out really soon.

I agree with Becky - I doubt Renee was a reputable breeder if she pulled something like that on you. Better to find a rescue group or a local breeder where you can check out their operation.

I always like to see people adopt rescued pets or pets from shelters. With so many unwanted pets available, it's difficult to justify the existance of so many breeders. Most people will never show a purebred dog, so why not give a good home to one who really needs one? You'll be hard pressed to find a more loving, grateful companion!

And best of luck to your son. I know waiting for acceptance letters can be TORTURE!

So sorry but there is a a yorkie out there somewhere just for you or it will be arriving soon. But naughty ones should get coal.

So sorry about the puppy! It might have been a puppy mill so maybe this is a blessing in disguise.
That is hard to hear but things happen for a reason. I know you must be disappointed but Yorkies are a very popular breed and you are sure to find a reputable dealer soon. Take care!

Marie, I'm so sorry this happened to you. I don't know how people can do that..I think coal is too good for her! It wasn't meant to be..but it still hurts.

That's terrible, especially when you are really looking forward to it. I hope that you will find another puppy soon.

Sorry for your frustration. No doubt (IMHO) that it was meant to be. I'm a little curious why she was driving all the way to Rhode Island and selling a puppy out of her car...sure this isn't the time to fly/cargo a puppy but still...
Anyway...have a peaceful Christmas regardless...you'll find a puppy soon.
